Soooo… my wifey and I made the big plunge and bought a Honda Odyssey. I know, I know… it was the hardest purchase of our life. But belief it or not, there’s is life after the mini-van is in your garage. One of the things that makes it a bit more palatable is to hack the crap out of it.
So I got to thinking. Humm, there’s a LCD screen in the front of the vehicle, I wonder if I can tear it all apart, put a switch in, and toggle back and forth between the NAV screen and the rear DVD player. Thus, being able to watch videos as we’re driving down the road (not that I would ever participate in such an activity – only the passenger would, only the passenger). After some hunting around on the web, putting my own spin on it, etc, etc… success.
At any rate, if you’re a frustrated Oddy owner and would like to redeem yourself by having an one of a kind NAV screen, then read on. Here’s the end result:
And a quick “How to” Slideshow:
The above pics and schematics are available to download and make it your own:
Honda NAV Hack
Finally, if you’re really wanting to add this addition to your Oddy, but not able to swing a soldering iron, not to fear I’m happy to build the project box for you. Just drop me a line.

You knew it wouldn’t be long… but the first functioning P2P client has hit the iphone natively. As of late, it’s strictly a terminal based function, but before long someone will probably port it to a gooey, cool GUI. More information after the jump.
